Glastonbury Planetarium

Explore the Universe!

Our digital full-dome theater features a seamless 40-foot diameter dome and a Digistar 6 by Evans & Sutherland that transforms our planetarium into a virtual spaceship, creating real-time visualizations that transport our audiences to the planets, star systems, and beyond.  We also feature fulldome movies on a variety of topics including spaceflight, aviation, biology, and history.

The Planetarium educates students from Glastonbury and surrounding towns and, at the same time, serves as an educational and recreational resource for the entire community.   We offer curriculum focused classes for Glastonbury students, public shows, and field trip for schools and community groups throughout Connecticut.   We are located at the Glastonbury-East Hartford Elementary Magnet School

Are You Ready for the April 8 Solar Eclipse?

Whether you are planning to travel out of state to see the total eclipse, or plan to remain closer to home and view the 93% partial eclipse, it’s important to be prepared to view the event safely.   Learn more about the eclipse and how to view it safely at: https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/future-eclipses/eclipse-2024/.   Please note that we are NOT having an event the day of the eclipse!
