Happy New Year PrincipalMessage
Dear Families,
Season’s greetings to you and yours. As we approach winter break, I want to take a moment to share our gratitude and appreciation for the many ways our community has come together this season.
Please note that Tues , December 23 is an early dismissal day/no aftercare. School will reopen on Wednesday, January 7. We hope the long break provides time for rest, connection, and joy.
Our Gingerbread Festival, hosted in partnership with our PTO, was an awesome success. It was wonderful to see so many families in attendance enjoying the creative activities—along with delicious hot cocoa and cookies! Thank you to everyone who joined us and to our PTO for making this event so special. The Festival kicked off our in school celebration. See down below for some home resources focused on books read and crafts done in classrooms. The Penguin Patch was another PTO initiative that students truly enjoyed, and we are grateful for their continued support and dedication.
We also want to celebrate Girls on the Run, who wrapped up their club season with the Mitten Run 5K in West Hartford. While I wasn’t able to run due to bronchitis, I was impressed by the turnout of staff and families and incredibly proud of our girls for their perseverance and spirit.
As we look ahead to the new year, we are excited to launch several initiatives, including an afterschool book club and our One School, One Book program with a kickoff event on the evening of January 9. Of course, we are also looking forward to lots of winter fun.
Thank you for being such a supportive and engaged school community. We are truly grateful for our families and staff. We wish you a safe and happy holiday season, if you celebrate, and a wonderful break filled with time together.
